This short story was written for inclusion in an anthology that an author friend of mine was putting together. (Summer Dreams, edited by Alan Seeger, 2014). It was published after Aunt Bessie Assumes (the first book in the series), but before any other title in the series was released. At that time I had no idea if Bessie was going to prove popular or not! I'm putting it up here to allow anyone who enjoys the Bessie books to have an opportunity to read it without having to purchase the entire anthology. Just remember that the characters have changed and developed a great deal since this story was originally written!
